Ahead of Saturday’s recall process of the lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, the Kogi State Police command has vowed to deal with any political thugs hired to disrupt the success of the exercise.
The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ali Janga gave the warning in Lokoja on Friday.
Janga who spoke through the command’s Public Relation Officer, ASP William Aya assured members of the public that the exercise will be violence free.
He said this could be achieved when the public cooperate with the security agencies to ensure that criminal elements do not disrupt the process.
He warned political thugs as well as those who may not have business at the Polling Unit to stay away, stating the command’s readiness to deal with any miscreants.
“The Commissioner urges the law binding citizens of the state to go about their lawful businesses and to always avail the security agencies with credible information on the existence of criminal elements in the state.
“The renewed commitment of the command to guarantee protection of lives and property remains unequivocal and unwavering,” the commissioner added.
