Dino Melaye, Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly has congratulated Senate President Bukola Saraki on his victory at the Supreme Court.
The apex court on Friday, dismissed the asset declaration case against Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
“Congratulations my man, brother, oga and friend. Owo bagadagodo won,” Melaye posted on his Instagram page, along with a picture of him lifting the Senate President above the ground.
Saraki was acquitted 1,018 days after the trial began and the Supreme Court has affirmed that there is no evidence of false declaration of assets.
The apex court, in its ruling delivered by Justice Centus Nweze, held that the decision of the Court of Appeal holding that a prima facie case was made against Saraki is “the juridical equivalent of a forensic somersault and the court cannot lend its support to a caricature of justice”.
