Dike resigns as Heartland coach

Alphonsus Dike has resigned as head coach of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Heartland.

The former Enyimba and Rangers boss, handed in his letter to the Imo State deputy speaker, Honourable Ugonna Ozuruigbo, on Monday before the close of work.

Dike cited sabotage by the management of the Owerri club, as the reason he is quitting with 11 games left this season.

“Recall that I’ve been paying my transport fare to all our away matches so far in the league,” he stated in the resignation letter.

“The management recruited and signed players that I never recommended nor had input during the mid season.

“They also sold key players of the club during the transfer window without my notice and approval.”

The Naze Millionaires are currently in the bottom-four in the NPFL with 29 points.
