Diego Costa’s agent Jorge Mendes meets with AC Milan directors

Portuguese super-agent, Jorge Mendes met with AC Milan directors, Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli yesterday evening in Milan.

According to several reports from Italy, no one is sure of what was actually discussed. A potential transfer involving Diego seems to be a media favourite.

With Atlético Madrid unable to register new players until January, AC Milan may be hoping to a march on them over the acquisition of Chelsea striker Diego Costa.

Chelsea and Milan were apparently locked in heated transfer battle not that long ago, but while Chelsea managed to secure the signing of Álvaro Morata.

Milan have yet to make significant progress for either Andrea Belotti or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

This could possibly open the door for Diego Costa, much as that door has been rumoured and shut several times already earlier this summer.

But unlike previous reports, there is no mention of a potential loan this time (short- or long-term), which could very well mean that Milan are trying to take Atlético out of the transfer equation.

One thing seems certain, AC Milan are still looking for another big name, big money striker and Diego could certainly fit that bill.

Unfortunately for them, Costa seemed fairly adamant about going to Spain and nowhere else, so this Milan angle could once again be a whole lot of something about nothing just as before.
