The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the result of the governorship election in Nembe Local Government Area of the Bayelsa State
The result from the collation center in Yenogoa, the state capital, indicates that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled 10, 768 votes while the All Progressive Congress, APC, had 6,974, with the total number of register registered votes put at, 66,384 and the actual voters given as 18,799.
Henis Otiotio, who is the agent of the All Progressive Congress, APC, protested the result of the election in Nembe as announced, stressing that he had credible evidence that no election took place in Wards 8 and 9 of the area.
His claim was however refuted by the returning officer for the local government.
