Diamond Academy nets £2.5m from Nwakali’s move to Arsenal

Kelechi Nwakali’s transfer to Arsenal, has seen Diamond Academy of Umuahia hit a jackpot, banking £2.5million.

The Academy received 10% of the amount when the deal was first agreed and will be paid the remaining monies any time from now, after Nwakali’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) was sent to the English FA.

“It’s a massive payoff for Diamond Academy,” a source told AfricanFootball.com

Nwakali has signed a five-year deal with the Gunners, but is expected to go out on loan and gain valuable experience.
