A group, under the aegis of Forum for Justice and Human Rights Defence has said that the proposed peace talks between Nigerian government with angry Islamist sect -Boko Haram would not end the crisis in the country.
According to its National Coordinator, Mr. Oghenejabor Ikimi, the government might end up negotiating with the wrong group.
He insisted by asserting that negotiation was not what the Federal Government needs at the moment, stressing that the panacea depends on good governance.
Ikimi lamented that the country had been a victim of bad leadership since independence “owing to a mediocre and unpatriotic leadership that has pervaded the polity.” It would be recalled that pioneer Chairman of PDP, Chief Solomon Lar also warned the Federal Government not to welcome the proposed peace talk until the sect members unmask themselves.
The sect over the week accepted to dialogue with the Federal Government, proposing Saudi Arabia as the venue. It also nominated prominent Northern politicians such as Gen. Muhammad Buhari, Senator Bukar Abah and others as mediators.
