Aliyu Babangida
The governor of Niger State, Dr. Babangida Aliyu yesterday reacted to the defection of his Deputy’s to the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, declaring that the defection will not change anything, neither will his rights and privileges be affected.
The state deputy governor had announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the opposition APC alongside 200 others on Monday.
Aliyu disclosed this in Minna while collecting his Permanent Voter Card, PVC, adding that his deputy has the right to associate with whoever he wants.
“He is free to associate with any person or group. That will not mean he will be denied any of his rights and privileges as the deputy governor of the state,” he said.
Urging eligible voters to ensure they collect their cards, Aliyu said: “The card gives you the right to vote who you want and this will be your fate for the next four years.”
