Deployment of more troops in Rivers community would help curb activities of vandals – Enjugu


The Managing Director, Port Harcourt Refining Company, Mr. Banfred Enjugu, has called for the deployment of more troops in Okrika area of Rivers State so as to check the activities of pipeline vandals.

Enjugu made the call while playing host to the Commander, Operation Pulo Shield, OPS, Major General Alani Okunlola, at the NNPC and Petroleum Pipeline Marketing Company in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

This was disclosed on Thursday in a statement by the Coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre, OPS, Lt.-Col, Ado Isa.

In the statement, Enunju observed that effective patrol of troops of the OPS along the waterways of Niger Delta had gone a long way in checkmating the activities of vandals in the area.

According to him, the patrol had also boosted the production capacity of oil companies operating in the country.

He said, “We also wish to call for the deployment of more troops in Okirika area to check pipeline vandalism and kidnapping targeted at some of the Staff of the corporation.

The MD further applauded the OPS for declaring war against oil vandals in the region.
