Depay, Fellaini score as United take control of play-off tie against Brugge

Memphis Depay was the star of the show, as Manchester United beat Club Brugge 3-1, in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off match at Old Trafford.

The Dutch forward, who arrived for a fee around £31million this summer, scored twice and provided an assist for Marouane Fellaini in the closing stages.

United went behind in the 8th minute, after Michael Carrick diverted a free-kick past a helpless Sergio Romeros, but from then on, it was one-way traffic and the hosts dominated proceedings.

The second leg of the tie will be played next week in Belgium.
