Oyo state chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Sunday described the demolition of Music House, a building owned by a popular Juju musician, Mr. Yinka Ayefele, as an act of wickedness and depicts lack of respect for the judiciary.
The party, while reacting to the Sunday morning demolition of the building which houses which Fresh FM, a radio station owned by Ayefele, described the action of the government as “a manifestation of the government’s anti-people policy”.
ADC, in a statement signed by Publicity Secretary of the Caretaker committee of the party, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, a copy of which was obtained by DAILY POST on Monday, insisted that the demolition was an “act of wickedness and lack of respect for the judiciary”.
The party said it was shocked at the development which came at the wake of Sunday, despite the pendency of a suit slated for Monday morning (today).
The party said, “ADC Oyo State condemned the action of Oyo state government in the demolition of the Music House which housed Fresh FM, the structure which belongs to Olayinka Ayefele.
“This is a manifestation of the government anti- people policy.
“ADC expresses shock at this development which came at the wake of Sunday morning despite the pendency of a suit slated for Monday morning.
“This act of wickedness and lack of respect for judiciary on the part of Oyo state government is becoming unbearable for the people of the state.
“On behalf of ADC, Oyo state, we join others to continue to pray for God’s continuous sustenance of the station, the Chairman and all members of staff and that Almighty God shall continue to uphold them.”
