A gun duel between operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Delta State Police Command and suspected armed robbers, has led to the death of two persons.
The deceased, including their accomplice who escaped gun shots by the whiskers, had robbed their victim at gun point about 2 pm 0n Tuesday around the Warri-Sapele road area of the state.
DAILY POST gathered that the robbers dispossessed their victim of N300, 000, three handsets and other valuables before fleeing on a tricycle.
But the victim swiftly made a distress call to police operatives who traced the suspects to Agbassa junction in the area.
The police gave the suspects a hot chase and a 45-minute gun battle ensued, leading to the death of two suspects.
Confirming the incident, the state police spokesperson, Celestina Kalu told DAILY POST that; “Two expended cartridges, one cut-to-size pistol, one live cartridge and the tricycle used by the suspects were recovered.
“The corpses have been deposited in the mortuary, while efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing suspect.”
