A former governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, has been affirmed unopposed in the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Delta South Senatorial district ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Uduaghan made this known on his Twitter handle on Wednesday night.
He said his senatorial candidacy has been affirmed by the Gen. Lawrence Onoja-led primary election panel of the APC.
The erstwhile governor tweeted: “I have just been affirmed as the Delta South Senatorial candidate of the APC to contest in the 2019 general elections by the rtd Gen. Laurence Onoja-led Primary Election Panel of our great party @APCNigeria
“Victory is sure for us by God’s grace! #APC #APCPrimaries #candidate.”
Recall that Uduaghan, a medical doctor, penultimate month dumped the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state for the APC.
He had explained that his decision to defect at the time was based on the need to pursue his political future.
