Delta Government has proposed N7 billion for the completion of the 149km Ughelli-Asaba dual carriage road project.
Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan stated this on Wednesday in Asaba during the presentation of the 2015 budget proposal to the state house of assembly.
Mr. Uduaghan said that completion would improve the flow of traffic in Asaba and Warri port.
He said that the state was proposing N5 billion for the completion of the five ongoing flyovers in Warri and Asaba.
He said that the sum of N3 billion was also being proposed for the completion of the 24 km Trans Warri-Ode Itsekiri access road.
The governor said that his administration had worked “tirelessly” toward having good network of roads across the state.
He said the government has constructed more than 1,206 km of road and 663 km of concrete-lined drains.
”We have also completed the construction of 17 bridges of various spans and another 25 bridges are at various stages of completion,” he said.
Mr. Uduaghan said that as part of the efforts of to improve traffic flow between the Asaba and the satellite towns, work had commenced on the dual carriage road of Asaba-Okpanam road.
He explained that the drainage was intended to arrest the devastating erosion and ameliorate flooding in Okpanam road and the Asaba metropolis.
