Del Bosque beats Mourinho, Guardiola to Coach of the Year award

The coach of the Spanish national side, Vicente Del Bosque, has beaten Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho and former Barcelona manager, to the Coach of the Year title.

“It is a great privilege to be involved with the Spanish Football Federation, the technical staff and coaches,” he said.

“I would like to remember all of the coaches I had in my time who were part of my education. We are all called upon to protect football and its image.”

The veteran tactician, led his country to their third consecutive major trophy at Euro 2012. He had previously missed out on the prize in 2010, despite guiding la Roja to World Cup glory.
