More tears and tributes have continued to pour in for Nollywood actor, Enebeli Elebuwa who passed away, Wednesday morning in an Indian hospital after a long battle with stroke.
Speaking on his sad demise, former President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Segun Arinze descried Elebuwa’s death as sad and shocking.
The actor said, “He fought gallantly. He was a great actor. We all called him Andrew as he was encouraged not to leave the country in the popular promo. But unfortunately, he has checked out.”
Also, popular Nollywood actor, Zack Orji said the Elebuwa would be greatly missed by all.
Orji said, ‘‘His death is a shock. May his soul rest in peace.’’
Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, in his condolence message commiserated with the family of the deceased and the entire movie industry, Nollwood.
He described the actor’s death as “painful and saddening”.
The Governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sunny Ogefere, said he is still in shock that despite the efforts made by Nigerians, especially his colleagues to bring him back, no fruitful results were achieved.
He prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest and as well give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
It would be recalled that Uguaghan recently came under heavy attack from some concerned actors and stakeholders in Nollywood, for snubbing and treating the late veteran actor, Enebeli Elebuwa with disdain during a weekend trip to Lagos when he was in the hospital.
It was gathered that Uduaghan was in Lagos and had been scheduled to pay a visit to the hospital where Elebuwa was, but shelved the plan at the eleventh hour.
DailyPost learnt that due to security reasons from the Governor’s end, the actor was moved from his Yaba hospital to a more secured and closer one in Surulere, for Uduaghan’s visit to be stress-free, yet he went ahead to snub the actor.
Fondly called Andrew , Elebuwa, 65, starred in several flick, such as, Domitila, Oracle and Mirror in the Sun and Oby Edozieh’s Save Our Souls, and among other blockbusters.
Elebuwa would be joining the likes of other Nollywood actors like, Sam Loco Efe, Geraldine Ekeocha, Ahmed Alasari, Olalekan Oladipo (Georgio Lekinson) Akin Ogungbe, Gogo Ombo, Ashley Nwosu, Dento, Taiwo Bello and Pete Eneh in the great beyond.
