Deal to take Nwakali, Chukwueze to Arsenal still on course – Academy

Diamond Football Academy have stated that Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze will still join Arsenal, as negotiations between the players and the Premier League club are progressing smoothly.

Last week, there were speculations that the move could be called off, because the Gunners insisted that the Golden Eaglets duo undergo trials.

However, Barrister Johnny Precious Ogbah, who is the legal consultant to Diamond Football Academy, has cleared the air on the matter.

“Like is normal in any such transfer, the players and their guardians visit the clubs to take a look at the facilities on ground and ask questions and discuss issues that will help them in making up their mind whether or not to accept the club’s offer before them,” he said.

“That’s exactly what happened. Same way Victor Osimhen visited Germany first before accepting to finally move there. Nobody asked any of the players to train with any of the Arsenal teams. I know this because I was there and involved in it all.”

Speaking further, the legal consultant said: “My clients are trying to cross every T and dot every I to ensure they get the best deal for the players and for the academy and everything went smoothly. Mr. Dick Law the Arsenal Director of Football assured us even before we travelled that there would be no trials and there wasn’t any, so I wonder where the website got their story from because it is all balder-dash.

“Before we left for London, people fed us with lies about Arsenal and some swore that the boys were going on trials but that was never the case. Both deals are in place and progressing positively but like I said, Diamond Football Academy are in no hurry as they want to ensure their players’ welfare and other important matters are well sorted out before the deal is concluded.”
