Dead body of raped girl discovered in Imo community

The people of Umunneato community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State were shocked when they discovered a naked corpse of an unidentified lady in Okwu village, a day after Valentine’s Day.

It was learnt that the dead body had visible bruises around the breasts and pubic region.

One of the residents of the community who saw the corpse disputed the fact that the killing may be as a result ritual activity, adding that no part of the girl was removed.

The witness further stressed that the deceased was a victim of gang rape; he further stated that nobody knows the identity of the perpetrators or when the dead body was dumped along the road.

Eze Leo Nwokocha, a traditional ruler in the area said the identity of the deceased is unknown.

The traditional ruler said police officers had come to remove the corpse after they got the information.

The royal father expressed confidence in security operatives in the area to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of the young lady and those involved be made to pay the dearly.

Police in the area however declined to comment on the matter referring all media investigation to Mr Andrew Enwerem the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO.
