Davido has emerged winner of the “Best African Act” at the 2017 MTV EMA.
Davido beat ‘Starboy’ Wizkid, and his South African counterpart, Nasty C, to take home the highly desired award.
Other African artists in the same category were Babes Wodumo , C4 Pedro and Nyashinki from Kenya.
The award ceremony was hosted on Sunday by Rita Ora-hosted at the SSE Arena in Wembley, London
Shawn Mendes took home four awards, winning best song, artist, biggest fans and Canadian Act, while Kendrick Lamar won best video for song ‘Humble’
