Following the outcry that the President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-graft war has been one sided, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC yesterday arrested a former military Governor of Kaduna State and Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Lawal Jafaru Isa for allegedly collecting the sum of N100m from former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki(rtd).
Isa’s arrest makes him the first APC chieftain that has been picked up by the anti-graft agency since investigation into the alleged disbursement of $2.1 billion meant for arms purchase.
Isa, a military administrator of Kaduna State from December 1993 to August 1996 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha and one-time governorship candidate of the defunct CPC in Kano State, is a close friend of the embattled former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
The APC Chieftain, who is said to be a close political associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, was arrested at his Asokoro residence in Abuja, Premium Times reports.
