Dapchi: SAN reveals what FG did before abducted girls were released

Mba Ekpezu Ukweni, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) has alleged that the Federal Government (FG) of Nigeria paid heavy ransom before the abducted Dapchi girls were released.

Speaking with DAILY POST on phone on Thursday, the SAN regretted that FG was very economical with the truth over the release of the abducted girls.

He alleged that ransom collected from the FG was what the Boko Haram used in buying sophisticated arms used in threatening and kidnapping more people.

“Many people in the present government are behind Boko Haram. I said it with all amount of seriousness. It is sad that they don’t know the exact number of people who were released hence they came out with conflicting figures.

It is becoming clearer that herdsmen that are terrorising the country at one point to another are also Boko Haram members.

The SAN said, “The activities of Boko Haram is an extension of the herdsmen, it is clearly an extension of herdsmen; they are working hand in hand.

“If you see the sophistication with which the herdsmen are operating and you compare it with what Bako Haram is doing, they are working together, they understand themselves,

“I will keep emphasizing that the government at the federal level and some states in the North know something about Boko Haram and they are part of it.

The SAN asked the federal government to come out openly and deny if some of her members in the cabinet or government are not members of the sects (Boko Haram and herdsmen).

“They should come out and deny it. They know what is going on, there is no how the federal government will tell me that, in a country with the military, with a lot of security, they cannot put an end to Boko Haram and activities of herdsmen.

He again alleged that the Federal government and Boko Haram were using abduction to siphon money to fund terrorism, “They can’t tell me that no money was paid.

“Money was paid as ransom and it is this money they used in buying more arms and kidnap more people as well as terrorising other parts of the country in the name of herdsmen.

“Boko Haram is part of the present Federal Government. They know the intention of the group and they are funding it,” he stated.
