The National Chairman of the National Action Council (NAC), Dr. Olapade Agoro has finally dragged President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) before the International Criminal Court ( ICC) for what he called, “crime against humanity” over the abduction of students of Government Girls’ Science Secondary School, Dapchi, Yobe state.
The NAC Presidential aspirant has last month threatened to drag Buhari and APC before the court if he fail to secure the release of Leah Sharibu, the remaining abducted Dapchi girl who is still in the custody of Boko Haram. Leah Sharibu: Olapade Agoro drags Buhari to ICC, issues 72- hour ultimatum on release of Dapchi girl.
Agoro in his petition addressed to the Information and Evidence Unit Office of the Prosecutor, ICC stated that his petition was based under article 15 of the Rome status, because the President has failed to secure the release of the Dapchi girl within the grace period he issued to the President.
The NAC National Chairman in the petition, urged the court to investigate both President Buhari and APC “for crime against humanity, by wickedly allowing the February 19, 2018 abduction of 110 innocent Dapchi girls by Boko Haram terrorists to take place whilst the Nigerian Army, The Nigerian Police and other security operatives around the school looked the other way”.
Agoro in the petition, a copy of which was sent to DAILY POST in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Thursday, also asked ICC to charge President Buhari and the APC “for crime against humanity, by allowing the 110 school girls to be kept for more than 30 days in the unsavoury convine of the Boko Haram terrorists”.
The NAC Presidential aspirant added that the court should further charge the duo for “Crime against humanity, for failing to secure the release of Miss Leah Sharibu, the only Christian among the abducted girls.
Agoro also urged the court to prosecute the duo what he called, “For crime against humanity, for failing to give accounts, details of what killed, who buried and where is the remains of 5 of the abducted 110 innocent school girls.”
