Dankwambo promises more dividends of democracy to Gombe people

Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State on Saturday in Billiri promised that his administration would deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of the state next year.

Dankwambo, who made the promise at the 9th Tangale Cultural Festival “Pissi Tangle”, said “I want to assure you that we will continue to do our best and ensure that we provide social amenities for the development of our people’’.

He said his administration would provide comfortable environment for the people and contribute its very best to the development of the state and Nigeria in general.

The Governor said by January 2015 more roads would be constructed in the area, adding that the design of the roads had been completed.

He said the state government would also build the Tal General Hospital which he said would cost N1 billion.

Dankwambo urged the people to support government activities and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) on time to enable them vote in the 2015 general elections.

Mr Iliya Samya, Chairman, Billiri Local Government Area, commended the governor for constructing township roads, building the state College of Education, reconstruction of Information Centre and micro-finance bank, among others.

“I call on everybody to avail the government and security outfits our support and co-operation to enable them overcome the security challenge we are all facing,’’ he said.

Mr Ke Tale, President Tangale Community Development Association (TCDA), stated that his people would continue to support the government’s programmes.

Meanwhile, the governor has promised to establish a computer centre in Kaltungo to enable students to write their various examinations successfully.

The Governor said this in Kaltungo on Saturday during the people’s annual festival.

He said the 2015 budget had captured a lot of projects, such as water and electricity projects, as well as a road project from Gondum up to the Taraba State boundary.

Dankwambo also stated that the Federal Government would soon settle the victims of the post-2011 elections violence in the state.
