The 2015 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dakuku Peterside has also joined in warning that APC members will take their seats in the Rivers State House of Assembly once the legislature convenes a session.
In a statement released by his Media Team, Peterside dismissed insinuations that the Speaker of the House may not inaugurate elected APC members.
Speaking with journalists at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Peterside advised the Speaker, Dabotorudima Adams to respect the office he occupies by swearing-in the elected APC members.
He said the Speaker had no power under the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria not to swear-in people who were duly elected and returned by INEC.
Peterside, who is also the Director-General of NIMASA, said that Wike remained an accused in the election matter, adding that he could not, therefore, set up an investigative panel.
“The same governor has now set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to probe issues surrounding the election and he expects Rivers people to obey him.
“How can such a governor call Rivers people not to obey police investigation but expect them to obey his own judicial commission?.
“So, what goal is the governor seeking to achieve with his own panel of inquiry, to exonerate PDP members and pronounce APC members guilty.
“I call on the Justice Chinwendu Nwogu-led panel to be very careful not to be used to achieve a dubious end.”
