Mamadu, while speaking with newsmen in Owerri, the state capital, said the seizures occurred on the Benin expressway, Aba-Eleme-Port Harcourt road and the Aba-Eleme axis.

“A truck load of fake and unregistered medicaments made up of 190 cartons of Tremadol, 10 sodium laury/sulphate, 1,700 pairs of shoes with a DPV of N2, 778, 000, 39 bags of sodium citrate with a DPV of N87, 228, 105, 115 pieces of used tyres with DPV of N624, 000, 30 bags of potassium chloride, 10 bags of fatty alcohol and assorted foreign soap/cosmetic with DPV of N6, 573, 600 were also impounded.”

While urging officers and men of the zone to rededicate themselves to meeting the requirements of the new change in administration in the country, Mamudu, who has spent only about one week in the unit, decried the continued degeneration of the nation’s economy.

Hameed Ibrahim Ali (retd.) and would also apply strict measures to block all areas of leakages to meet up with its revenue target.”
