Cultist impregnates daughter for rituals, continues sleeping with her after abortion

The purported illicit activities of a man, Hafizu Isyaku, at the Tudun Wada area of Mararaba, near the Federal Capital Terriroty, Abuja have hit the news.

Isyaku, 40, allegedly impregnated his 13-year-old daughter to meet a requirement of his cult group ‘for a ritual purpose’ and he continued sleeping with his daughter after getting the pregnancy aborted, Daily Trust is reporting.

The suspect’s wife and mother of the victim, Maryam Manta, cried out for help after she realized her daughter was pregnant and the mystery surrounding it.

She was quoted to have said she knew about her daughter’s pregnancy when she returned from a three-month journey.

Manta, a resident of Kabala Doki, Kaduna state, said the incident happened at Tudun Wada, Mararaba, near Abuja where she resided before relocating to her current residence.

While Hafizu, an electronics dealer at Mararaba market could not be reached for comments, Manta narrated her ordeal, saying, “When I returned from my journey where I went to see my parents, I noticed my daughter was sick and was behaving strangely. Earlier, I didn’t suspect anything because my husband constantly gave her some concoctions to drink, claiming it was going to heal her.

“When the sickness persisted and I noticed my daughter had missed her period, I questioned and threatened her to tell me if she had any affair with any man.

“Eventually, she opened up to me that her father had been having canal knowledge of her while I was away.”

Manta was further reported as saying that when she confronted her husband, he cried and confessed to joining a cult which mounted pressure on him to get his daughter pregnant and then abort it as a sacrifice.

She continued, “I became confused and wept profusely but when he promised to disassociate himself from the cult, I went together with him to the hospital where the pregnancy was aborted but I found out that after the abortion, my husband was still having sexual intercourse with her.

“I caught him red handed in the very act. I became heartbroken and absconded from his home in Mararaba and returned to Kaduna with my six children.

“I reported the issue to the District Head of Kabala Doki, Danlami Bawa, when I arrived Kaduna.

“He invited my husband for some discussions.

“My husband had constantly visited and threatened me and the children. He wanted to seize the children from me so I filed a court case at the Sharia Magistrate court, Magajin-Gari in Kaduna for the full custody of my six children,” Manta told the newspaper.
