Report says no fewer than nineteen persons have been killed in cult clashes in Idoha and Ulapata communities in Ahoada-East Local Government Area of Rivers State.
DAILY POST gathered that suspected Iceland and Greenlanders cult groups have been locked in a battle for supremacy in the area, which led to the setting up of a vigilante group called Isakaba boys by the paramount ruler of the community to check the activities of the cult gangs in the area.
In a fresh attack, it was revealed that suspected Greenlanders had on Saturday wiped out a family of four persons.
The cult group also beheaded one person in Idoha community in the same Local Government Area, who was later identified as a member of the Iceland cult group in the area.
A reliable source within the community, who simply gave his name as Nnamdi told newsmen that suspected Iceland cultists in a reprisal attack in the early hours of Sunday laid siege on Ulafata community and allegedly killed fifteen persons.
Assistant Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringo-Koko said that the command was aware of cult related war but that the number of casualties remained unknown.
ASP Koko stressed that the command had started investigation into the cult clashes in Ahaoda-East.
In the meantime, DAILY POST gathered that Ulapata community has been deserted after the killings, following an alleged letter issued to the community by one of the cult groups.
Similarly, a twenty-six year old man has been shot dead by unknown gun-men in Agba-Ndele community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Reasons for the killing of the yet to be identified man are still sketchy.
