Four people have been reportedly killed in Koporo-Sogho Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State in a cult clash.
DAILY POST gathered that suspected Dey-Gbam and Iceland cultists engaged in supremacy clash where shots were fired sporadically.
The shooting resulted to the killing of four people in the community.
A resident, Hycinth Aani, who confirmed the incident, criticized the Amnesty committee setup by the state government to mop up arms for their inability to retrieve weapons from the cultists.
Aani, a Spokesman of the Ogoni present and past student leaders, asked the amnesty committee to return to Khana to carry-out a proper disarmament programme for cultists and criminals in the area.
“They just came and started shooting. I don’t know which group came to hit the other but what I know is that they are Deygbam and Iceland boys. Four people were hit with stray bullets during the shoot out. We came out and saw their dead bodies.
“But what I want to say is that I want to condemn the inability of the Rivers state Amnesty Committee to mop up arms in Khana Local government area and Ogoni in general.
“Recall that sometime ago, when they visited Khana, they refused to grant amnesty to some cult groups; their reason was that the weapons they wanted to tender was too small.
“What we are saying is that if the committee actually means well for our people, they should come back to Khana and conduct that amnesty programme properly. They need to take these weapons from these boys; if not, such killings will continue,” he said.
