Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, scored his 75th goal for his country in their 4-0 win over New Zealand at the ongoing Confederations Cup, to move to within nine of Ferenc Puskas, the top of the European international goalscoring chart.
Ronaldo opened scoring from the spot in the 33rd minute, as the European champions qualified for the last four .
Puskas, who also played for Real Madrid like the 32-year-old, netted 84 times for his country between 1945 and 1956.
It remains a record across the continent to this day.
Ronaldo has netted four times in as many appearances for Portugal over recent weeks.
He bagged a brace against Latvia on the road to Russia 2018, before finding the target against Russia and New Zealand at the Confederations Cup.
