COZA: Ezekwesili questions Police over invitation of Busola, Timi Dakolo

A former Minister of Education, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, on Sunday reacted to the invitation letters served on Busola and Timi Dakolo.

This followed an alert by Timi Dakolo whose wife, Busola had accused the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion, COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo of rape, where he claimed that some strange men attempted to invade his residence with guns on Saturday.

Dakolom in a post on his Instagram page raised the alarm of how Pastor Fatoyinbo allegedly bribed officials investigating the alleged rape case and consistently harassed his family.

But reacting, the Police Spokesman, Frank Mba, in a statement Saturday night, said the letter was sequel to an ongoing police investigation involving Busola Dakolo, COZA founder, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and others.

He explained that the invite was not synonymous with a Warrant of Arrest, and must not be misconstrued to be one.

“Rather, it is a polite investigative tool used in eliciting information voluntarily from parties to aid police investigations”, Mba noted.

However, Ezekwesili writing on her Twitter Page queried why the police operation ‘appeared extremely intimidating.’

She wrote, “Just catching up on this & seeing those pictures of the Dakolo’s report of your ‘invitation’ makes this your Statement quite curious @PoliceNG . Did not seem your officers executed a “regular police invitation”.

“That operation appeared extremely intimidating. Why? Explain this.”
