Liverpool playmaker, Philippe Coutinho, has said he would rather be revered at Anfield, than be “just another player” at Barcelona or Bayern Munich.
The Brazilian has been constantly linked with a move away, despite only signing a new long-term contract in January.
Coutinho insists he will see out the deal which runs out in 2022, but which time he would have established himself as a legend at the Premier League club.
“Stay here and they will end up building a statue in your honour,” Coutinho told ESPN Brasil when quizzed on his future.
“Go somewhere else, to Barcelona, to Bayern Munich, to Real Madrid, and you will be just another player. Here you can be something more.”
Coutinho netted 14 times across all competitions for Liverpool this season.
