A Federal High court in Port Harcourt has sentenced one Bello Shuaibu to ten years imprisonment for his role in financial fraud.

Trial Judge, Justice Uche Agomuo convicted Shuaibu of conspiracy, forgery, altering and stealing N15.7m from the National Film and Video Censorship Board in Abuja.

Justice Agomuo, in the judgment on the matter that has dragged for eight years, said the sentence will run concurrently.

She ordered that the eight years the convict has spent in prison be deducted from the years of sentence.

Meanwhile, the court discharged and acquitted one of the accused persons, Uzoma Onyeachu who innocently provided his account for lodging the fraudulent cheque from the sentenced Shaibu Bello.

The court said all the evidence and facts before it exonerated Onyeachu as he neither collected any money nor benefited from the fraud done with his account.
