A Magistrates’ court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Tuesday sentenced one Habib Amusa, who is 19-year-old to 16 months imprisonment for stealing school property valued at one million naira.
The prosecutor, Inspector Taiwo Adegoke, informed the court that the convict committed the offence sometimes in September 2018, at Assodiqyah group of school, Oke- bale, Osogbo.
He said the convict did break and enter into the school building and stole some items totalling one million naira, being the property of one Sima Adeyanju.
Adegoke said the offence committed contravened section 414 and 413 of the criminal code cap 34 vol 11 law of Osun state 2003.
The convict, who had no legal representation, admitted guilty to the first charge of stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the second charge of house breaking.
The magistrate, O. T. Badmus thereafter sentenced him to 16 months imprisonment for first count-charge and then adjourned the matter till February 26, 2019, for hearing on the second count- charge.
