Court insists on death sentence for Reverend King

The General-Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Chukwuemeka Ezeugo a.k.a Rev. King,on Friday failed in his appeal to overturn a death sentence earlier passed on him by a Lagos High Court, Ikeja on January 11, 2007.

Ezeugo was convicted and sentenced to death by hanging for the alleged murder

of his church member, Ann Uzoh.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos passed the death penalty on “Rev. King”.

The panel of judges said the lower court acted in the interest of justice by sentencing the preacher to death.
