An Ikorodu Customary Court on Friday in Lagos granted the prayers of a 48-year-old artisan for the dissolution of his marriage after he confirmed that his second child was born for another man. The Court President, Mrs Omolara Abiola, separated the 10-year-old couple having confirmed through a DNA test that the second child was not his. Abiola granted the custody of the first child to the petitioner after being confirmed by paternity test. She, however, ruled that both parties go separate ways. Earlier, the petitioner, who resides at Baiyeku, Igbogbo in Ikorodu, had on. Nov. 19, 2015, filed a petition against his wife, Sherifat, citing infidelity and denial of second child paternity. “My wife is into infidelity act and I have caught her severally. One day, I took the two children whom she claimed were mine for a DNA test without her consent. “From the result, I discovered that the second child was not my own. “Moreover, I am tired of her disgraceful act in the community; she is a debtor and could not even account for her business money,’’ he said. However, the 42-year-old respondent had denied the allegations and begged the court to save her marriage. (NAN)
