Court adjourns Dasuki’s case to November 23

Dasuki 1

A Federal High Court presided over by Justice Adeniyi Ademola in Abuja on Monday adjourned the case of Col. Sambo Dasuki, rtd, till November 23.

Ademola, adjourned the case following an oral application from the Solicitor-General of the Federation, Mr Taiwo Abidogun.

According to the Judge, the adjournment was to enable the Attorney General of the Federation appear and explain the siege on Dasuki’s Abuja residence.

The Solicitor-General while filing an application for adjournment told the court that the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice had just been sworn-in and as such needed time to study the case so as to enable him brief the minister on the matter.

Abidogun told the court that the minister who was yet to resume office would be briefed on Dasuki’s matter on November 18 when he resumes.

He, therefore, urged the court to allow them to appear on Monday.

Dasuki’s Counsel, Mr. Joseph Daudu, SAN, did not oppose the application.

DAILY POST recalls that Nigeria’s former National Security Adviser pleaded not guilty to the allegation of money laundering.

Dasuki has also denied charges of illegal possession cache of arms including assaulted rifles and a sub-machine gun security agents allegedly found in his residence in Abuja and Sokoto in July.
