Court adjourns Dasuki’s case till Friday following absence of defence lawyers

Embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), was eventually produced at the FCT High Court in Maitama, after his late arrival led the presiding judge, Justice Baba Yusuf, to stand down his case with respect to the charges of alleged diversion of about N32bn, part of fund meant for the procurement of arms.

When Dasuki, who was initially absent from court arrived, the Judge heeded the request of the defence lawyers, Mr. Joseph Daudu SAN and Mr. Ahmed Raji SAN, who had written to the court for an adjournment, explaining that they would be in Kogi State for an election petition case slated for Thursday.

Counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, and other defence counsel in the case did not oppose the request by the lead lawyer. This then led to the former NSA’s case being adjourned till 11am on Friday.

Dasuki was conveyed to the court by operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS.
