Couple found dead on farm in Ebonyi

A 36-year-old man, identified as Mr. Ani Chijioke and his wife, Ngozi Chijioke were found dead on their farm in Onicha local government area of Ebonyi state.

According to Vanguard, the people of Mgbaleze Isu went in search of the deceased as both of them failed to return home from the farm. They found the wife, Ngozi Chijioke lying dead in the pool of her own blood with marks all over her body while Chijioke Ani was found hanging on a tree.

The villagers are still perplexed on how a husband and wife would die mysteriously on the farm.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP George Okafor confirmed the incident as he stated that the man may have killed the wife and hanged himself.

He said: “Yes, it is true that the couple died at the farm but I am thinking that may be one thing led to another and the man killed his wife and hanged himself because the area is peaceful, no any dispute in the community.

The PPRO assured that the police will get to the root of the incident as investigation has commenced.
