Council of State meeting: Amaechi confirms attendance

All is now set for the Council of state meeting set to hold at the State House, Abuja on Thursday.

Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has confirmed that he will attend the meeting.

Amaechi has not attended the meeting since he fell apart with President Goodluck Jonathan.

However, Amaechi at his twitter handle wrote, “I will attend the Council of State meeting. I will oppose any agenda to postpone the elections. The plot will fail. Nigerians want CHANGE”.

The council consists of the President, the Vice-President, all former Presidents or ex-Heads of State, all former Chief Justices of Nigeria, the President of the Senate, all state governors and the Attorney-General of the Federation.

The call for the postponement of this month’s general elections and the level of preparedness of INEC may likely top the agenda at the meeting.
