Chelsea striker, Diego Costa, has broken his nose in training with the club.
This news was confirmed by the interim manager, Guus Hiddink, in his pre-match press conference on Friday, ahead of the visit of Newcastle.
“Costa broke his nose in a duel with one of the other players. He will wear a mask. We are a Zorro team,” Hiddink told reporters, referring to facial injuries already picked up by Nemanja Matic and Cesar Azpilicueta this season.
Costa joined Stamford Bridge in a £32 million deal in July 2014 and helped guide the club to the Premier League title last season.
