Corruption, bad governance killed PDP – Saidu

Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government, Muhammed Bashir Saidu, today declared that corruption and misrule have killed the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Nigeria.

He insisted that the party was dead and buried in Kaduna and all over the country, saying it will never resurrect.

Addressing newsmen at the State House, Kaduna, Saidu maintained that PDP had exchanged all its goodwill with corruption and bad governance, adding that Nigerians will never forget the pains and trauma of the opposition party’s sixteen years misrule.

The Commissioner who is the immediate past Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, (APC),Kaduna State, revealed that, the present government will soon commence arraignment of treasury looters who stole the masses funds.

He maintained that the steps the present administration of Governor Nasir El-Rufai has taken will rekindle hope for the common man as the dark days of PDP were over in the state.

Saidu, further revealed that the high level of stealing carried out by PDP government cannot be swept under the carpet, saying the party used contracts to siphon billions of funds with no job done.

His words, “PDP can say anything but what the masses know is that PDP is dead and buried. The party has gone forever and for the good of Kaduna State and Nigeria in general. PDP will never resurrect in Nigeria. If PDP did not win elections when they were in power with all the government machinery, how can they win? What I know is that, the party shortchanged Nigerians and there is no way PDP will come back to power.

“For example, in Kaduna State, the past administration of PDP awarded contracts and collected the money without doing the job. The revelations we are getting about the activities of PDP’s last administration will shock you. The monumental stealing that took place by the PDP administration is under investigation and we will soon hand over looters to security agencies for arraignment,” he said.

He continued that, “PDP had earmarked money for projects and stole the money left, right and centre. We don’t want the culprits to run away, therefore, we can’t mention names. We have already invited EFCC to open an office in Kaduna state so that if we catch looters, we will hand them over.

“PDP did not get 30% of votes cast in the last election, so how can the party resurrect when they stole all the money when they were in charge. Even if electoral body organise elections today, PDP can’t win because the party stole its goodwill from Nigerians in the last 16 years of misrule.

“Our administration under Governor Nasir El-rufai is working for the masses and they are happy with our government. I am sad now, but the time we start arresting PDP looters, I will be happy.

“Before, salaries were hard to be paid under PDP’s past government but now, it’s a different story as our governor has paid and is paying civil servants, including local government workers. In the past, local government contracts were being awarded at the ministry of local government but our governor has stopped such since he came on board,” he said.
