nyscThe Zamfara state Commissioner for Youths and Skills Acquisition, Alhaji Abdullahi Gurbin-Bore, has disclosed that the state government will pay special allowances to members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, deployed to schools in rural areas.
Recall that over 1,500 corps members of the 2015 batch B, stream 2 completed the three weeks orientation at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Tsafe.
While addressing newsmen in Gusau, the state capital on Wednesday, the Commissioner said the move was designed to improve education in the rural parts of the state.
Gurbin-Bore said, “I want to use this opportunity to call on the local government authorities, traditional rulers to give good accommodation and hospitality to corps members serving in their areas.” Although he did not state the amount, he said “The present administration in the state, in order to appreciate members of NYSC will pay special allowances to corps members serving in rural communities as a show of encouragement.”
The Commissioner also disclosed that the government had restored the State Honours Award, with automatic job offer to three deserving corps members at the end of the service year.
