A man, who goes by the name Professor Bookworm, has revealed how a Corps member was allegedly arrested after helping a man to withdraw money from an Automated Teller Machine, ATM.
He took to his twitter handle today, to advice people who usually assist people with making withdrawals at the ATM, to desist from the act.
His tweet reads: @EngineChux
A newly posted corps member had gone to an Access Bank ATM to withdraw N3, 000 from his Diamond Bank account when a fellow approached him, feigning ignorance on using the ATM.
The corps member agreed to help and collected the ATM card. The fellow frantically opened a diary from which he read out different pin numbers and eventually landed on the right pin for that card.
Unknown to him as he later discovered, the fellow and his gang had stolen a car from which they found the card.
According to him, he withdrew over N100, 000 as the guy urged him to be fast.
The owner of the card, a woman, who was on her way to block further usage of the card, got a debit alert and hastened up to Access Bank.
Access bank then connected Diamond Bank where they got the victim’s profile and located him.
Shortly after he got back to his office, he received a call from Diamond Bank requesting his presence.
Bank staff came with a video evidence of a corps member, him, withdrawing money from the ATM with an alleged stolen ATM card, which was inside a car as at the time it was stolen.
A heavy allegation of theft was slammed on the corps member. He was being accused of stealing a car, including other valuables.
He was crying profusely and tried in futility to exonerate himself by giving a detailed explanation of what had actually transpired.
Moments later, due to utter amusement of everyone, he returned in fetters, accompanied by Policemen and Bank Staff.
Currently, the victim has been whisked away by the Police and is now in detention.
