Argentina coach, Lionel Scaloni has reacted to his side’s Copa America semi-final 2-0 defeat to Brazil on Wednesday.
Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino ensured the host nation defeated Argentina and qualified for the competition’s final where they will play either Chile or Peru.
Scaloni stated that his side was superior to the host nation, adding that the La Albiceleste deserved to play in the competition’s final.
Addressing reporters at a post-match conference, Scaloni said: “On merit, the team that should have gone to the final was Argentina.
“We were superior to Brazil. We showed that this group of players feel the shirt like nobody.
“We leave an image for the future of this national team and a very good way forward.”
On about his future as Argentina coach, he added: “I don’t think it’s time to talk about it, because that’s the least of my worries right now. I want to be with my players and share this hard moment.”
