Former Manchester United player, Eric Cantona, has lashed out at Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, for telling Diego Costa to leave the club via a text message.
Cantona believes it will cost the Premier League champions £40million.
“Angry texting, it’s not a good idea and breaking up with a text it’s even worse,” Cantona said.
“Mix the two together and you have Antonio Conte’s now infamous: ‘Good luck for next year but you are not part of my plan.’
“Every single letter of that sentence addressed to Diego Costa may cost Chelsea about a million euro. Don’t run a team with your thumbs!”
Conte’s controversial text has not gone down well with Chelsea’s hierarchy, with club officials reportedly considering sacking the Italian.
