Chelsea coach, Antonio Conte, has insisted that Diego Costa was left out of the team to play Leicester City on Saturday, because he has a back injury.
Multiple reports in the British media on Friday, claimed Costa had fallen out with Conte.
According to Sky Italia, the row ended with Conte shouting: “Go to China!”.
This comes after news that Costa is being offered £30m-per-year offer from a club in the Chinese Super League. Conte dropped the Spain striker for their 3-0 win at Leicester .
Before the game at the King Power Stadium clash, Chelsea’s official Twitter account tweeted two quotes from Conte.
“On Tuesday, Diego stopped training with a pain in his back and then in the week he didn’t train with us,” read the first.
The second added: “We played without Diego against Bournemouth and we have had time to prepare for this. We’ve prepared very well.”
Costa has two-and-a-half years left on his contract.
