Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, is eyeing Southampton’s Cedric Soares, to provide cover and competition to Victor Moses, who is presently the only credible option available to him as a right wingback.
Conte has reportedly sanctioned a bid of around £13.6m for the Portugal defender, who won the European Championship Euro 2016, held in France, with his country.
The former Juventus boss, has spoken about the lack of options available to him, especially at right wingback, as the team lost 3-2 to Burnley in their Premier League opener against Burnley last weekend.
Chelsea is, however, facing competition to land the 26-year-old from the South Coast.
Juventus and Barcelona who are also reportedly in the running for Cedric, who joined Southampton from Sporting Lisbon for £4.7m in 2015.
