Conte fires back at Wenger, says “I don’t need your sympathy”

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has stated that he does not need “sympathy from any coach.”

Speaking on Friday at his press conference ahead of their first Premier League fixture against Burnley, Conte was asked about comments from his Arsenal counterpart, Arsene Wenger.

Wenger had said he sympathises with the Italian over the size of his squad , but feels they caused their own problems by loaning out too many players.

In response, Conte made it clear that players are sent out on loan, to help their development.

A tweet on Chelsea’s official Twitter handle read: “Conte says he is not looking for sympathy from any coaches and if our players leave on loan it is to help their development.”

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s game at Stamford Bridge, Conte hinted that new defender Antonio Rudiger, could start tomorrow particularly as Victor Moses is suspended.

“He’s a good player, strong, good personality, technique,” he said.

Pedro Rodriguez is out, after injuring his ankle during the Community Shield game against Arsenal last week.
