Conte favourite to become first Premier League manager to be sacked

Ladbrokes believe Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, is the most likely Premier League manager to either be sacked or resign, following their shock defeat to Burnley on Saturday.

The UK bookmaker reacted to the Blues’ 3-2 loss, by making Conte the 7-2 favourite in their market, on which top-flight coach will be the first to leave his post this season.

Newcastle United’s Rafa Benitez and Stoke City’s Mark Hughes are joint-second in the betting at 9-2.

The Premier League champions fell apart, after captain Gary Cahill was sent off for a lunge into Steven Defour in the first half.

Burnley raced into a three-goal lead, before Alvaro Morata and David Luiz pulled two back for the hosts.

Chelsea’s odds of retaining their crown drifted to 11-2 as a result of their opening-day defeat, with Manchester City now 6-4 favourites, followed by United at 3-1.
