Players of the Congo national team, have expressed their confidence of completing the double over the Super Eagles of Nigeria, when both sides square off in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.
Reims midfielder Prince Oniangue, who was the skipper of the Red Devils team that defeated the African champions 3-2 in Calabar, said: “We don’t have to make long speeches. We will be on the pitch on Saturday and we will see after the match.
“We are based on the Holy Scriptures. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. In good days and bad days we are asking to the fans to be with us as we are only three points away, even may be one point away from qualification.”
Thievy Bifouma, who also scored in that game, admitted that he was itching to score against Nigeria again, to kill off their chances of defending their title next year.
“I want to score against Nigeria to give victory to my country, Congo,” the 22-year-old striker said.
The match will be played at the Stade Municipal in Pointe-Noire by 3.30pm (Nigerian time).
